Position Summary:
The Guest Experience Associate (GE) plays a pivotal role at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum. In this dynamic
position, they wear multiple hats, serving as a welcoming presence to all guests and families who come to the
Museum. They take ownership in creating a positive first impression and set the tone for a memorable Museum
experience. Additionally, they support the day-to-day operations, which includes opening and closing procedures, daily cleaning on the Museum floor, facilitating play activities on the exhibit floor, and assisting Museum guests.
Basic Requirements:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have completed high school. Additionally, candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as an ambassador to the Museum – setting a playful and positive tone for every visit, welcoming families with warmth and excitement by sharing information about the Museum efficiently but enthusiastically.
- Greet visitors, provide general assistance, answer questions, and offer information on the Museum's daily programs and upcoming events.
- Maintain a safe environment for guests by actively participating in daily cleaning of the Museum floor.
- Process all transactions on the Museum's POS system, including; ticketing sales, membership sales and cafe sales.
- Serve as a birthday party attendant by setting up room, coordinating, and supervising birthday parties in accordance with Museum policies and procedures.
- Monitor the Museum floor and exhibits, have a working knowledge of all exhibits and be able to instruct and engage with families and visitors about exhibit operations and facilitate their interactions.
- Report any broken or malfunctioning exhibit components or Museum property to the appropriate staff member and help to keep exhibit props in their correct locations.
- Ensure the safety of all guests and the security of Museum exhibits, equipment, and supplies by handling all situations with care.
- Attend staff meetings and training as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in customer service, sales, and/or hospitality with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service.
- Must have a welcoming, enthusiastic, and engaging demeanor and be able to communicate effectively with both adult caregivers and children.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in cash handling and credit card transactions.
- Must be highly detail-oriented, possess high standards, and maintain a positive attitude while working well with others.
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work weekends.
